The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). The flight deck extension between 67 and 71 stations on the port side on 1 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is on the centreline of the flight deck at 67 station on 1 deck looking aft and to port showing the flight deck extension between 67 and 71 stations on the port side. The Mark 10 Limbo mortar well is in the foreground. Three large oil drums, the ship's brow and the helicopter winch are on the deck extension. The ship is berthed port side to the quay.
