On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the radar display annexe between 30 and 31¾ stations on the port side of 1 deck looking aft and to port from near the door. A dynamo unit and a meter unit are against the port side. A T.I.U. Mark 5 cabinet, a design 219 co-ordinate converter cabinet, a Thermotank ventilation unit and a cabinet containing a marker selector unit, a pulse generator unit and two coding bearing units are against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
