On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the electrical maintenance room between 39 and 42 stations on 1 deck looking aft and to port from 40 station showing a cabinet containing a Mark 13 load unit, a Mark 2 phase indicator, a Mark 75 test unit, a Mark 3 selector panel and Marks 64, 65 and 66 power units. An electric fire and a Thermotank air conditioning unit are against the port bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
