On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the communications control room annexe between 31 and 32½ stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to starboard and aft. The door to the annexe is on the left.. Against the aft bulkhead in the foreground is the CUJ No. 4 control panel with two other banks of control panels beyond it. A vertical format negative.
