The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the communications control room annexe between 31 and 32½ stations on the port side of 2 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the communications control room annexe between 31 and 32½ stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to port. Against the aft bulkhead are two banks of control panels with the CUJ No. 4 control panel beyond them. Against the port side are eight junction boxes and an automatic emergency lantern. Against the forward bulkhead on the right are drawer units with a shredding machine on top of them and a Thermotank air conditioning unit above. A vertical format negative.
