On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the transmitting station annexe between 28¼ and 31 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft and to port. In the right foreground is the door to the annexe. An automatic emergency lantern, a fire extinguisher, a telephone, an electric fire, a workbench fitted with a Record 83 vice and two 440 volt panels are against the port bulkhead. A power distribution board is against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
