On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the main communications office between 32¼ and 35 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft into the aft port corner from 33 station showing a full height cupboard with a combination lock and on top of it is a box marked 'Airlite 62 headset'. A noticeboard and a fuse panel are on the extreme left. Two radio receiver units are against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
