On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the main communications office between 32¼ and 35 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward from 34 station showing Bay 1, the MF/DF bay, equipped with an FM16 automatic direction finder, a radio control unit, a KMP(1) control unit and a morse key. A vertical format negative.
