The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the sonar control room between 35¼ and 39 stations on the starboard side of 1 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the sonar control room between 35¼ and 39 stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking forward and slightly to port from 37 station showing the sliding door to the room on the extreme left with a fire extinguisher and an automatic emergency lantern next to it. The positions of four operators are against the forward bulkhead and the rotating chair of the officer-in-charge is on a raised platform on the left.
