The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the transmitting station between 26 and 28¼ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the transmitting station between 26 and 28¼ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to starboard from 27½ station showing the main gunnery director, range, bearing and firing control panel against the side of the ship. An U.V. flash unit and various boxes and panels relating to gunnery control are against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
