The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). in the transmitting station between 26 and 28¼ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the transmitting station between 26 and 28¼ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward and to starboard from 28 station showing the main gunnery director, range, bearing and firing control panel against the side of the ship on the right with an electric fire and a voltage measuring unit next to it. Against the forward bulkhead is part of the MRS 3, Mod 3 gunnery control system with two banks of servo units next to it. Attached to the top of the servo units is a piece of paper or envelope addressed to Squadron Mech. G.T. Robertson, L.S. & G.C.M., HMS Lowestoft. A vertical format negative.
