The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the transmitting station annexe between 28¼ and 31 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the transmitting station annexe between 28¼ and 31 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward and to starboard from 30 station. The folding door to the transmitting station is on the left and a fire extinguisher bracket, an automatic emergency lantern and a telephone are next to it. A workbench with drawers and cupboards under is against the forward bulkhead. Eight switch sockets, two extending lamps, a tannoy and two sliding door cupboards are above the bench. One of the upper cupboards is labelled 'camera gear'. A vertical format negative.
