On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in No. 2 naval store between 12½ and 15½ stations on 4 deck looking forward and to starboard from 14 station on the centreline showing open shelves, one of which contains a 49 lbc drum of bilge cleaning material. Wooden broom and mop handles are in a rack on the end of one of the shelf units on the right. A vertical format negative.
