The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the passageway between 30¾ and 41 stations on 2 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 30¾ and 41 stations on 2 deck looking forward from 32½ station showing the closed but not clipped watertight door at 30¾ station. On the left is the door to the communications control room annexe with an international compressed air breathing apparatus Mk. 2 cabinet in the left foreground. To the left of the passageway door are cable stowage brackets and two emergency connection boxes. On the right is the stairs up to the wheelhouse lobby on 1 deck and the door to the switchboard room.
