On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 30¾ and 41 stations on 2 deck looking to port and aft from 32 station showing the door to the communications control room annexe on the extreme left with a cable stowage bracket and an international compressed air breathing apparatus Mk. 2 cabinet next to it.. Doors to the weapons electrical office and the amplifier compartment are on the left.
