On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the pay and correspondence office between 32 and 35½ stations on the port side of 3 deck looking aft showing two desks with two two-drawer cabinets under and four cupboards above. A cupboard, mail pigeon holes and a combination safe are against the ship's side on the right and a large combination safe is against the starboard bulkhead.
