The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). The 3 inch Mk 4 Knebworth-Corvus rocket launcher at 35 station on the starboard side of 01 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is looking forward over the side of the starboard bridge wing showing the 3 inch Mk 4 Knebworth-Corvus rocket launcher at 35 station on 01 deck. A 2 inch rocket flare launcher is mounted above it. A Leander class frigate of the 4th Frigate Squadron is berthed ahead of the Lowestoft (1960) and is about to depart assisted by two harbour tugs. A vertical format negative.
