On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the G.W.S. (guided weapons system) power room between 47¾ and 51½ stations on 1 deck looking to port showing a desk with a wooden chair in the left foreground. A monitor power supply unit is in the centre of the picture with a G.W.S. 20 spares cabinet containing five units on the left and a G.W.S. 20 guidance and control outfit containing five units on the right. A vertical format negative.
