The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the G.W.S. power room between 47¾ and 51½ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the G.W.S. (guided weapons system) power room between 47¾ and 51½ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking forward from 51 station showing a G.W.S. 20 guidance and control outfit on the extreme left. A number of manuals and a metal box labelled S.F. No. 587 are on a wooden workbench. Fuse and starter panels are against the forward bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
