On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the G.W.S. (guided weapons system) power room between 47¾ and 51½ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking aft from 48 station showing a number of electrical units including two mounted back to back on a steel framework in the centre of the picture. A large wooden chest is on the deck on the left and a double pedestal desk is against the aft bulkhead on the right. A vertical format negative.
