The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the G.W.S. power room between 47¾ and 51½ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the G.W.S. (guided weapons system) power room between 47¾ and 51½ stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking forward and to port from 49 station showing a 300 volt electrical testing unit with the central console empty against the port bulkhead. Also against the port bulkhead is a small unit with a circular screen on top of a two drawer and cupboard unit. Four large panels are against the forward bulkhead.
