On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the communications control room (transmit) between 28 and 31 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard from 30 station showing one end of a workbench with a ventilation trunk fan under it against the aft bulkhead. On the right is the Type 692 cabinet No. 5. A vertical format negative.
