The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the communications control room (TX) between 28 and 31 stations on the port side of 2 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the communications control room (transmit) between 28 and 31 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking aft and slightly to port from 29½ station showing the Type 692 cabinet, containing No. 5 and No. 6 units, against the aft bulkhead. Against the port side of the ship is the C.C.R. transmitter switch and fuse distribution panel with a notice board next to it. A vertical format negative.
