The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the communications control room (TX) between 28 and 31 stations on the port side of 2 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the communications control room (transmit) between 28 and 31 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to starboard and up from 29 station showing the top of the sliding door to the room and the tops of the 640 cabinets Nos. 1, 2 and 3. Two light fittings and a number of switch units are under the deckhead.
