On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 41 and 63 stations on 2 deck, looking to starboard and aft from 60 station showing the door to the sickbay on the extreme left and the sliding door to the senior rates' mess on the right. Between the doors are two fuse panels, a distribution panel, four switch boxes and a chemical foam fire extinguisher. A vertical format negative.
