On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 41 and 63 stations on 2 deck, looking forward from 62 station through the archway at 61 station showing the length of the passageway. On the left is the open door to the senior rates' bathroom and on the right is the sliding door to the senior rates' mess. A vertical format negative.
