The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960)

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the avcat pump space between 57 and 59 stations on 4 deck looking to port from 58 station showing the vertical ladder leading up to 3 deck. A cable stowage bracket, two chemical foam fire extinguishers, a starter panel for the helicopter refuelling pump and an emergency change-over and switch connection box are against the bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
