On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the diving gear store between 46 and 47¾ stations on 1 deck looking aft from 46 station on the centreline showing a workbench with drawers and shelves under it. A vice is fitted to the bench and another vice is at the back of it. Metal chests are on the left. Against the aft bulkhead is a Birlec high pressure air cylinder charging panel and on a shelf above are tins of Wesco Brand shark repellent.
