The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). The monorail for the Seacat AS 12 missiles at 50 station on the rear of the hangar on 01 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is looking aft, to starboard and up from the port side of 1 deck at 50 station showing the monorail for the Seacat AS 12 missile fixed to the outside of the bulkhead of the hangar at 01 deck level. The open watertight door to the foam proportionator compartment is on the left and the door to the hangar is at the bottom of the picture.
