On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is looking forward and to port at the stores loading davit at 50 station on the port side of 1 deck. A portable pump, bucket and dustpan are on the deck next to the davit. The ship is berthed starboard side to the south side of the basin. The Leander class frigate Juno (1965), pendant F52, is alongside the north side of the basin in the background. A vertical format negative.
