On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the mortar handing room between 67 and 71 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to port from 70½ station showing the fuse and depth setting control panel with a tannoy above it against the aft bulkhead on the left. An electrical charging and distribution panel and a transformer are against the port side. A vertical format negative.
