On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is looking to starboard into the beer store and issue room between 42 and 43½ stations on the port side of 1 deck. Round the cold store are stacks of cartons of cans of Watney's Red Barrel, Watney's Brown and Piper's Extra Export beers. A vertical format negative.
