On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is looking aft and to starboard from 53 station showing the Seacat GWS 20 missile launcher between 55 and 57 stations on 02 deck. The upper part of the launcher has a canvas cover over it. The Royal Fleet Auxiliary store carrier Bacchus (1962), pendant A404, is in the background alongside the east quay of the basin working cargo with lighters alongside. A vertical format negative.
