On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the conversion machinery compartment between 31 and 35½ stations on the starboard side of 3 deck looking forward and to starboard. On the deck in the foreground are a dual output motor generator, a director metadyne and a small motor generator. Against the forward bulkhead are excitation units for the dual output generators, power and fuse panels and a transformer. Against the ship's side are four rectifier units. A telephone is mounted on a support pillar.
