On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the aft petty officers' mess between 49 and 55¾ stations on the port side of 2 deck looking forward and to starboard from 55½ station showing three double settee berth bunk units, two easy chairs, one chair and a greatcoat locker with an overcase locker above it. A notice board and a litter bin are fixed to the side of the greatcoat locker. The door to the mess is beyond the curtain in the background.
