On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the conversion machinery compartment between 31 and 35½ stations on the starboard side of 3 deck looking aft on the port side. In the right foreground is a dual output motor generator with its starter above it. On the deck next to the port bulkhead are an amplidyne generator set with a motor generator beyond it. The 12 volt battery stowage has a motor generator next to it. The door to the compartment is in the port bulkhead and next to it are two contactor units. Against the aft bulkhead are the starter panels for the motor generators. A vertical format negative.
