The photographer is in the 4.5 inch magazine between 23 and 27 stations on 4 deck looking to starboard and forward from 26½ station on the port side showing the cartridge hoist, a telephone, a loudspeaker and freestanding bottle racks for storing the cartridges. A portable stool is in the right foreground. Shelves for the stowage of miscellaneous items are against the ship's side. The magazine can hold a total of 970 4.5 inch cartridges.
