On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the switchboard room between 31 and 32½ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to port showing the main switchboard on the right against the forward bulkhead. Against the aft bulkhead are the watchman's desk with a telephone control box above it and a clock reading 1.46, an automatic telephone exchange, fuse distribution panels and junction boxes. A fire extinguisher and an emergency lantern are by the side of the closed door.
