On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the officers' cabin flat between 35½ and 41 stations on 3 deck looking forward from 38 station on the centreline showing the dead-end lobby at the forward end of the main passageway between the cabins. On the right is the outer bulkhead of cabin 7 and on the left is the outer bulkhead of cabin 8. In the deck are two 18 inch diameter oiltight scuttles leading down to Nos. 2 and 3 dieso fuel tanks. A fuse panel and a cleaning gear locker are on the left and a pump is in the forward starboard corner of the lobby. The pipework under the deckhead includes lagged steam, hot fresh, fresh and dieso pipes. A vertical format negative.
