On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the main passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 16 and 23 stations on 2 deck looking aft from 16 station showing the watertight hatch leading down to the Hull Outfit 20 (asdic type 174) compartment on 4 deck. A handwinch for the A/S gear is next to the hatch. Fuse panels and the H.O. 20 cross beam support bar are against the starboard bulkhead. On the port side of the passage are fuse panels and the sliding door to the P.Os. mess. The 4.5 inch gun bay is in the background with the hatch down to the seamen's mess on 3 deck in front of it.
