On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the main passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 22 and 26 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft from 22½ station showing the wire mesh doors of the engineer's regulating office in the background beyond the bread locker bulkhead. Against the ship's side are pipes labelled 'pressure to shell hoist', 'pressure to cartridge hoist' and 'discharge'. A damage control locker is fitted to the bulkhead of the 4.5 inch gun bay on the right. A vertical format negative.
