On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the bridge wing on the starboard side of 01 deck looking forward from 34 station showing the mounting for the ten inch signal projector on the right with the canvas covered azimuth repeater and the canvas covered target acquisition system sight ahead of it. The hand grenade locker and the conning intercom loudspeaker are mounted against the side screen. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. On the right is the stern of the cargo liner Clan Fraser (1961) on the building slip almost ready for launching, which took place on 27 July 1961.
