On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 27½ and 31½ stations on 01 deck looking forward from the centreline showing the pelorus repeater, speaking tubes and the captain's chair on the raised platform. A microphone, an asdic type 177 range and bearing repeater and an asdic type 176 bearing repeater are against the port bulkhead. Various units labelled 'hunter', 'attacker', 'watcher' and 'mortars' and on the port side of the forward extension and a revolution recorder and a clock reading 3.45 are against the forward bulkhead. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The Royal Fleet Auxiliary oiler Bayleaf (1955) can be seen through the port bridge window.
