On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 27½ and 31½ stations on 01 deck looking to starboard from just to port of the centreline showing the chart table, the J.U.A. visual display unit for types 277, 293 and 978 radars, fleet disposition board, clock reading 3.15, an electric fire and a first aid cabinet on the right. The watertight hatch down to 1 deck is open and semi-permanent handrails are fitted to the stairs. The positions for three communications ratings are against the forward bulkhead. The captain's chair is on the extreme left. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.
