On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the canteen between 51¾ and 54 stations on the centreline of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard showing a sink unit and a Frigidaire ice cream conservator against the aft bulkhead. Against the starboard side is a full length formica topped counter with shelves under, sliding door cupboards above and a shelf on top of the cupboards. All of these shelves are packed with canteen stores of all kinds including tins of fruit, cream, spaghetti, baked beans, pork luncheon meat and fruit juice, packets of biscuits, jars of beverages and sandwich fillers, dental and medical requisites, stationery and artificial flowers.
