On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the boiler room between 41 and 49 stations on 3 - 4 deck just to port of the centreline at 41½ station on the middle platform looking aft and to starboard between the two boilers. An electric pump is in the foreground. Babcock patent soot blowers are fitted to both boilers.
