On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is looking to starboard and forward in the missile magazine between 51¾ and 53½ stations on the centreline of 1 deck. As the missile outfit was not ready for installation the space is temporarily fitted with wooden cupboards, drawers, a single pedestal desk and two small shelf units. The two lower cupboard and drawer units are labelled 'Sports equipment', one of the glass fronted cupboards is labelled 'Ship's library' and the other is labelled 'Trophy cupboard'. A vertical format negative.
