On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is on the port side of 1 deck at 50 station looking forward showing the 25 feet motor cutter in its davits. The cutter has a canvas cover over it and two inflatable liferafts are under a canvas cover on the deck under the cutter. On the right is the potato locker and a supply fan is fixed to the side of the torpedo pistol maintenance room. The funnel has the Red Hand of Ulster logo on it, signifying deployment with the 20th Frigate Squadron based at Londonderry/Derry. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay and ahead of her is the Royal Fleet Auxiliary oiler Bayleaf (1955).
