The Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is on the quayside looking to port showing a close-up view of the starboard side of the ship's foremast and funnel from 37 to 45 stations. The Type 277Q radar dish is on its lattice structure ahead of the lattice foremast. The ship's funnel has the Red Hand of Ulster logo on it, showing her assignment as a unit of the 20th Frigate Squadron based at Derry/Londonderry. A vertical format negative.
