On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is at the aft end of the port side of the Limbo Mk. 10 mortar well on 2 deck at 71½ station looking forward and to port. The watertight door into No. 1 mortar handing room is open on the left. Two loudspeakers, a fire hose basket, the refuse chute, mortar projectile loading hatches and a watertight hatch with a canvas awning are against the port side of the well. The base of No. 1 mortar mounting is on the right. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.
